The Building Industry Association of New York City, Inc., (BIANYC), a member of a national federation that includes the New York State Builders Association (NYSBA) and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), which combined have approximately 200,000 members.
BIANYC, is the leading advocate for the development and construction of low rise, primarily owner occupied housing in New York City. It also acts as an intermediary between its members and the operating agencies of the city that govern the many activities of the building trades, including construction codes, highway regulation, drainage and water supply, as well as planning and zoning. BIANYC continuously works to create a level playing field for its members to operate on, as far as government regulators are concerned.
BIANYC, a not for profit trade association, founded in 1954, represents and promotes the interests and concerns of its members and the communities within New York City in which they operate by:
ü Being a pro-active participant in the legislative and regulatory process at Local, State & National levels;
ü Providing education and information to the membership and the community;
ü Maintaining a positive public image of the industry;
ü Fostering the professional and ethical standards of its members;
ü Promoting the products and services of its members; and
ü Ensuring that its members adhere to the highest ethical and moral standards.
A major goal of BIANYC is to be recognized as the leading advocate in New York City for the improvement of the quality of life of the public, to be achieved through promoting the ownership of quality housing, built by its highly qualified and knowledgeable members.
